Questions for Candidates

  1. Andrea Farrier says:

Please comment on how much you know and what your feelings about home schooling and Home School Assistance Programs are – specifically, what level of support and/or regulation should the state Dept of Ed impose on people who choose to educate their children at home?

  2. Susan Johnson says:

    Have you lost your mind?

    • Al Bregar says:

      Ms. Johnson,

Just what is wrong with Ms. Farriers comment. Is it the idea of homeschooling children. Let me guess you think that all children need to attend the failed indoctrination centers that our schools have become. They no longer teach children to think for themselves and instead teach that they need to all think alike. I would be willing to bet that within the next couple of decades the leaders of this nation will be more and more likely to be homeschooled children.

    • Andrea Farrier says:

Have I lost my mind? Why would someone have to lose their mind to ask a question – a legitimate question that concerns a sizable minority of people in the state.

No, I haven’t lost my mind. Instead, I think the real problem is that too many people have lost their ability to question things – to think outside the box. I have to agree with Mr. Bregar… statistics show time and time again that home schooling is the most effective, efficient, and cheapest way of educating children. Whether people want to embrace home schooling or not, it’s here to stay, and today’s home schooled children will be tomorrow’s leaders.
